Moyna Flannigan was born in Scotland in 1963. She lives and works in Edinburgh.

Drawn from sources such as film, painting, fashion, both "high" and "low" culture, Flannigan’s work is known for its dark humor, a lavish sense of imagination and a probing critique of the effects of power on personal, cultural and social relationships.

Flannigan has exhibited widely in the United States and Europe at venues including Gallery of Modern Art, Glasgow; Van Abbe Museum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands; The Pizzuti Collection, Columbus, OH; The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA; and The Royal Academy of Arts, London. She is the recipient of the Creative Scotland Award and the Artists Award from the Scottish Arts Council. Her works are in numerous private and public collections including Aberdeen Art Gallery, Arts Council of England, Deutsche Band, the Progressive Art Collection and the Saatchi Collection.
